Product certification is a means of providing assurance that a product conforms with specified requirements in standards and/or other normative documents. At the GNBS a voluntary Product Certification Programme is available under which manufacturers’ claim that their products are conforming to standards and are validated by an independent third party. The Product Certification Programme aims to implement and monitor certification systems in industries to provide assurance that locally manufactured products conform to requirements of the relevant Guyana Standards.
